A Checklist to Identify Vision-Related Learning & Behavior Problems.

    More than a few of these indicate a vision problem likely exists.

    Takes "hours" to do homework that should take a few minutes.

    Skips words or lines while reading. Overlooks or mis-reads short words.

    Rubs eyes or gets headaches in the afternoon.

    Falls asleep or gets tired when reading, especially toward end of the school day.

    Slow-hesitant reading even when re-reading.

    Attention span shortens when doing intense close-up work. Restless when doing near work that requires comprehension.

    Disturbs other children in class during reading or other subjects that require intense near focus and concentration.

    Uses finger to hold place while reading.

    Can concentrate for longer times when playing games or other compelling near vision work.

    Seems compelled to touch everything.

    Bumps into things. Doesn't seem aware of nearby objects. Often trips or falls over objects, steps, rugs.
